Orange Blossom 「甘橙」

The bride’s smile is bright
Her beauty glows like sunlight
She’s kind like moonlight
One part of her life ends now,
The rest of her life begins

Notes: In hanakotoba (花言葉), the Japanese language of flowers, the orange blossom (甘橙) represents “purity” (純粋), “charm” (愛らしさ), and “a bride’s joy” (花嫁の喜び). The other parts of the orange plant is also important in hanakotoba. The orange fruit (オレンジの実) represents “beauty” (美しさ) and “kindness” (優しさ) while the orange tree (オレンジの木) represents “generosity” (寛大、気前のよさ). In the western language of flowers, the orange blossom also represents “purity” (純粋) but also the phrase “Your purity equals your loveliness” (あなたの純粋さはあなたの愛らしさと釣り合っている). [Japanese source]
