Mountain Laurel 「花笠石楠花」

A crown of laurels
Sits atop the queen’s long hair
As she sits the throne
This coronation is just
The beginning of her dreams

Notes: In hanakotoba (花言葉), the Japanese language of flowers, the Mountain Laurel (花笠石楠花) represents “an elegant woman” (優美な女性), “great hopes” (大きな希望), and “ambition” (野心). In the western language of flowers, the mountain laurel also represents “ambition” (大望、野心) and “treachery” (裏切り). [Japanese source]
